This panel takes a look at the last year and sets up the day with a wide ranging and sparky discussion.

Panel Focus: Women as consumers of sport are often a neglected group. This panel will look at the consumption of both men’s and women’s sport by women including merchandise, match tickets and Pay TV subscriptions. What encourages women to invest and consume in sport? How do brands reach women who feel sport isn’t for them? Why do women still consume more men's sport than women's? Are sporting choices really gender driven?

Panel Focus: It is said that the British public only has retains knowledge of any three female athletes at any one time. How are successful female athletes turned into inspirational and high-profile media figures? Succesful female athletes are often seen in racy photoshoots - this widens their profile but does it help the cause as a whole? What are the best ways of developing female talent?

Panel Focus: Sponsorship is a major provider of fund’s for women’s sport, who has this grown and how is it to be encouraged? Does this encourage a concentration of elite athletes? With public funding set to be cut in the coming years where should the majority of it be received - a small elite or at grassroots level? Or is it possible to adequately fund both? What new and inventive ways have been found to fund women’s sport? What role should athletes have in securing funding and sponsorship?

Panel Focus: With the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cup, Women’s Rugby World Cup, and many more event coming to the UK in the next ten years the government has promised a golden decade for sport. What opportunities and strategies are there to ensure this success? Does new technology help raise the profile of women's sport or does the development of this ultimately have less children playing sport? Is there a concern that funding will be limited to the elite-medal winning athletes. How do we ensure that the legacy of this decade is a permanent and positive one?
