Clare Connor OBE (Head of England Women's Cricket)
Clare is currently Head of England Women’s Cricket for the England and Wales Cricket Board. She is a former England cricket captain and was awarded the OBE in 2006 after leading England to winning their first Ashes win in 42 years the previous summer after. Clare retired in 2006 having played 16 Tests and 93 one-day internationals.
In April this year, Clare was appointed to the International Cricket Council’s Cricket Committee as is its first female member and in August this year Clare was awarded Honorary Life Membership to the MCC. Clare has enjoyed a dynamic career outside cricket. She taught English at Brighton College for seven years, also heading up their PR operations and running a girls’ day house there.
Clare also worked extensively in the cricket media, presenting for Channel 4 Cricket, summarising on Test Match Special and writing a column in The Observer.
